Leeds face £25,000 fine after February tunnel brawl.

Leeds United have been hit with a £25,000 fine after tha FA fined them for “a failure to ensure its players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour”.

In other words it kicked off big time in the tunnel after Leeds dramatically beat Doncaster 3-2 with an injury time goal from Luciano Becchio.

Doncaster, who requested a personal hearing received a £20,000 fine.

West Yorkshire Police decided not to pursue any charges in July, paving the FA to step in and uphold justice.

Both clubs have been warned over their future conduct and no doubt Papa Smurf will be composing a paragraph or two about how fines such as these were another cost overhead in running the club. However they are still considerably significantly less than what the club have had to pay out following recent judgements in the High Court over his attacks on former Leeds Director Melvyn Levi.
