Leeds have been told to restrict their allocation of away tickets for the League Cup clash with Chelsea on December 19th by West Yorkshire Police. The official figure is 3000 but you can guarantee at least one other Chelsea fan will be in attendance should his tax status permit.

It is understood that Chelsea requested 5000 tickets for the pre-Christmas showdown but in the spirit of anything but goodwill to all men the West Yorkshire plod have put their flat feet down and ordered just 3000 of the Rafa Benitez Appreciation Society be allowed in.

On Twitter, Chelsea claim they had been asked to accept just 1500 on the grounds of "fan safety" but had eventually settled on double that amount.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Following a series of meetings between officials from both clubs a decision was agreed that 3,000 tickets would be made available to Chelsea supporters."

The move comes as WYP have ordered Leeds to switch the kick-off times of no less than FOUR high-profile home Championship fixtures in the New Year including the clashes with Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield.

The Chelsea tie comes less than 48-hours before Ken Bates is due to hand over the ownership of the club to GFH Capital. Although Bates will stay on as Chairman until the end of the season and then become Club President you can guarantee his propaganda machine will be in overdrive on how he saved two of England's great clubs from oblivion.
