Meet The Ref - MK Dons Sunday, 24th Feb 2008 19:45 Matthew Phillips introduces us to the man in the middle for the 2nd leg of the JPT area final Monday’s referee is ex Premiership ref Andy D’Urso from Essex; he became a Football League ref in 1994 and became a Premiership referee in 1999. He will take charge of his second Swansea game this season - the previous game was the 4-2 FA defeat to Havant & Waterlooville, he awarded us a penalty in that game and a penalty last season against Sheffield Utd in the same competition. He has refereed some high profile games in his career; he has also been involved in some controversy as well (D‘Urso was suspended for 4 weeks in 2004 for failing to send off Blackburn’s Barry Ferguson after showing him two yellow cards) This season he averages just over 2 yellow cards per game and has shown just 2 reds so far. Stats for 07/08 season:
