Roberto Martinez talks about his options out wide following the departure of Andy Robinson

Roberto was in an upbeat mood as he spoke to the Evening Post about the departure of Leeds bound Robinson and he believes that he has the options available to replace him.

Robinson made the decision last week to sign for Leeds after five years at Swansea but Roberto shook that off with his normal calm collective views.   He also played down any interest he may have in former Derby winger Lee Holmes preferring instead to single out Andrea Orlandi as the man who will blossom next season.

Orlandi has not played since going off injured against Brighton in the JPT last season and Roberto believes that we are yet to see the best of the man signed early last summer from Alaves B.

"We have got Andrea Orlandi and Tom Butler in that position," he said. "We all know of the talent that Andrea has. He will have one of the best left feet in the Championship. He needs to go into pre-season injury-free and strong, and then we will see the best of him.

"Lee is a player that really surprised me last season but there is nothing further in that." he said in reference to questioning over the former Derby winger who spent a spell last season on loan at Walsall and has just been released from Pride Park.

"Tom is also a big threat for us as well and he showed last season what he is capable of, so it is a good situation for me to have players battling for places."

Martinez was also in no mood to criticise Robinson for his decision to defect "He was a great servant to us," he said. "He came here on trial and ended up playing a big part in getting Swansea to the Championship.

"We have to be very proud of what Robbo has helped Swansea achieve in that time, along with recognising the quality service he paid the club.

"He played very well in the last few months and that attracted interest from other clubs.

"Robbo felt it was the best move for him, so we must wish him all the best.

"It is now time to move on."
