Swans, Leicester and Bradford In Moore Link?
Swans, Leicester and Bradford In Moore Link?

Swansea City are again being linked with a move for Derby defender Darren Moore accordingly to the Burton Mail.

Moore was one of last season's top transfer targets for the Swans but they were unable to meet his wage demands or persuade him to move down two divisions to play in League One.  But that interest has gone quiet from the Swansea end this summer and the assumption has always been that they were not following up their interest in the veteran defender.

And whilst that is quite possibly - indeed maybe even very likely - the case the Swans have again been linked today along with Bradford City and the apparent favourites to sign him Leicester City.

Moore is free to leave Pride Park after a season that saw Derby relegated as the worst side in Premiership history with just one victory all season - back in October over Newcastle United.  That aside Moore was voted as Derby's player of the season but they are happy to let him go as they go about their business of unsettling players elsewhere.

Swansea's favourite Chairman Adam Pearson told the Burton Times "I think Leicester is complicated by the fact that they're interviewing for a manager.

"If they get one sooner rather than later, then Darren may decide to go there."

Swansea's interest does appear to be nothing more than speculation and, at a guess, is fuelled by our interest last summer rather than anything more concrete this time around.  Having said that we know that Roberto is always looking for new strengths and Moore does have a Championship experience that could prove valuable to us this season.

Time will tell on this front but as a hunch, I would say it's not going to be us this time.
