It was a nail biter at Forest Green but it was Macclesfield Town who fought their way through and Swansea will now travel North for the second round of the FA Cup in just over a week's time. |
The game is a repeat of the opening game of the season which saw Swansea triumph by 3 goals to 1 to get their season off to a flyer. |
The game was close all the way through with Forest Green taking the lead in the 29th minute through Mark Cooper only to see that advantage pegged back by Kevin Keen just four minutes later. |
The game then ebbed and flowed but headed into penalties after the obligatory extra time period. In a nailbiting finish, Macclesfield triumphed by 11 penalties to 10 to reach the second round leaving us with a game against one of the few sides below us in the league table. |
