The Fan's Views - Tranmere

UnderTheArm65 Posted on 14/2 23:54Email this Message | Just like to say.......

I thought the support was magnificent today - we kept it going throughout the game. I thought Tranmere just about deserved the win, they had that bit more composure than we did. Haven't seen any replays, can only comment on what I saw live. Tate's sending off - didn't have a good view - have no idea of whether it was justified or not. The penalty - right in front of us - for what it's worth (and we were full of beer) it seemed a blatant penalty. A push by Howard (I don't know why some seem to think it was Izzy), but the disappointment was that the ball seemed to be going nowhere, so there was absolutely no need for the push. We battled hard, but still look no better than an average Third division team - I just hope our season doesn't now turn into a whimper. And for those who weren't there, and may be taken in by some of the Tranmere wind-up boys, Trundle, I thought, had a good game today. Some of his touches and lay-offs were sheer class, he was constantly outnumbered, if only he'd had some support. I think what was deflating was the fact that there wasn't much between the teams, and we could so easily have brought them back to the Vetch, they deserved the victory - but it could have been so different.

So we've shown that we can compete with 2nd Division sides? Or did Tranmere show that they are a 3rd divisions side? I wasn't there today so would be interested in a sensible opinion.

Fair play to you today, but Trundle is seriously over-rated, the media darling that he is tries all the fancy bollocks and it doesnt come off, who does he think he is ? Zidane ? Good luck for the rest of the season.

How are we a 3rd division side ?

Didn't say that. Read my message again. That's why I asked for a sensible opinion. That's why I replied to the original message.

My view - I honestly don't know how Tranmere compare with other Second division sides. I will just say that I thought that we were able to compete with them, and we are no better than a top half Third division side. Sorry if it might upset Tranmere fans, but that's how I saw it.

That's interesting, thanks. I think we may well be playing Tranmere next year, in one division or another.

Lads all credit to you. I will always rember what a great bunch of lads you are and you are with out a shadow of doubt the best thing in wales. I think you have to rember 3 of our best players where injured today Simon Haworth = top class scorer out with broken legg Tyrone Lorane = A monster in midfeild or deffence Mickey Mellon= age catching up on him but still can play a good killer ball. Im not trying to take away from your good effots i am just saying that was a weakend tranmere side. Division 2 is messed up any one can beat any one we can quite easily get into the play offs with a half decent run. If we got a new stiker which our tight fisted board seem reluctant to do we will be up there mixing it in the play offs. so i persoanly think you competed with a div 2 side and you wouldnt look out of place here if you sorted your deffence out.

Sorry to disagree, and don't want to drag you down, but we are without doubt a Third division team. We have too many shortcomings to consider ourselves any better - unless the difference between the divisions is not as great as I thought it was.

he has got it about our defence, even MOTD said about it, if we can improve at the back we could get in the play offs. pity we played 4-5-1 for a lot of the game because trundle would have done better with support up front. 4-4-2 it should be for the rest of the season. on yesterdays performance and by getting some better players in we could compete in division 2 but we won't get there with 4-5-1.

Well what i saw today. You really did look very impressive on the brake two of your midfeilders really did scare me whenever they got the ball. Although trundle didnt really do much he showed some good touches. I think if you could sort your deffence out you could have a decent go in division 2. Like i said we where had a weak side out today but you did play well.

In all fairness we did play well today but I have to be honest I am glad to see the back of the FA Cup.I don't want to sound negative but we played shite last week and lost 2-1 and played well today and lost 2-1.What about Wednesday? If we play out of our skins and lose I will be devastated. We have three games in seven days next week and I reckon we are capable of winning all three, get nine points and we will be back on track.Don't forget we have not won a league game this year. Also having just read todays Evening Post the words spoken by our Chairman(if true) are music to my ears,he has told Brian Flynn that can sign two players by Wednesdays game. One needs to be a striker to play with Trundle,I'm not sure what else.

You did play very well today and your players and fans were a credit to your club.Until the penalty you were much the better side-but it was a blatant if unnecessary push by your player. If you are signing 2 players, apart from somebody to assist Trundle ,you need somebody to marshall your defence because whenever we pressurised you at the back you seemed to clear the ball straight into row Z when it wasn't always needed. I was delighted to see Andy Robinson play so well-he was never given a chance here by Ray Mathias-I hope that we can see you here next season again in Div 2-you're certainly better than a good number of teams we've witnessed this season. My very best wishes to you all for the rest of the season.PLEASE IGNORE OUR IDIOTIC ONES WHO HAVE POSTED ON YOUR BOARD-THEY DON'T REPRESENT THE VAST MAJORITY OF US-Good luck

Will agree in principle with what you say. We have let the cup become a distraction this season no matter what anyone says. Now is the time for Flynn to show us what he is made of. The funds are there to improve the side, we are well within reach of the play-offs. Let's just do it!

Well played swansea your fans your players everything well done but i think we where the better team on the day. First 20 minutes you dominated and for 10 in the second. The peanlty and sending off where blatent. People like scouse jack and duke of kent have sour tits. We had a good atmosphere and where singing when we where losing so dont even try that one. Can a fan who saw the game come on and share your opnions on the game i personaly thought we where the better team but you did play well.

as i said on your site the sending off was not blatant and the ref has already agreed to review as apparently both sides have said it was wrong. Trannies were upset as you had a break on goal Scousejack is not sour mate..... it takes a bit of time to get used to his humour and his thinking he a cross between Bernard Manning and Eddie Izzard but hes well worth sharing a beer with

thats the thing scousejack we wernt lucky. We deserved that i can count on one hand the amount of chances you had. We had some really good opptunitys to score twice cleared of the line humer could have scored twice. Ryan taylor could have set up two if he got his head up. Dadi curled one just over the bar. We did just play better than you.

We did have the better chances. + that was a figure of speach. On several occasions our players should have just shot but ahhh well we got the restul we needed.
