Roberts Move A Permanent One

Robbo Move A Permanent One

JackArmy.net understands that by the end of this week, the move to bring Stuart Roberts back to the Vetch Field will be made into a permanent move.

Roberts signed on loan on Tuesday and made a substitute appearance in the 2-1 win over Leyton Orient at the Vetch. However, it is understood that Roberts has initially signed this loan period to enable his participation in the match in question only. Football league rules state that permanent moves must be in place by 5pm the day before the match whilst loan moves for evening games only have to be in place by 5pm on the night in question.

Roberts has not been able to secure a first team place at Adams Park under new manager Tony Adams and the two clubs have agreed that his contract there will be cancelled and a contract put in place which will see him return to the Vetch Field on a permanent basis. The length of the contract is unknown although it is suggested that initially it will be just until the season's end with Roberts needing to prove himself to manager Brian Flynn.

Roberts was a crowd favourite at the Vetch before being practically given away by cockney wide boy Tony Petty as one of the club's few saleable assets at the time. He was always reluctant to leave the Vetch and the news came as a blow at the time to Swans fans already reeling from the 'sacking' of so many key players.

His appearance during the Leyton Orient game suggested that he is lacking match fitness, understandable for someone who has warmed the Wycombe bench over recent weeks. However, we do know that he has the ability to attack and create and should prove to be an asset to the side in the coming weeks.

Welcome home again Stu!
