Kayode is a tall and powerful striker who was born in Nigeria but moved to London at the age of three. He was given a trial by Bristol City on the recommendation of his cousin, Ade Akinbiyi. He spent three years at Ashton Gate and had a spell with Forest Green while he was there.
He then moved to Forest Green on a permanent basis following his release by Bristol City and enjoyed a successful 2002-03 season, scoring 16 goals.
Kay moved to the Robins in the summer of 2003 but struggled in his first two seasons, although he showed great form last season finishing the club's top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions.
