The Last Chance Saloon......?

Type Story Title Here

Tranmere currently occupy the last Play-Off position, 4 points ahead of us. If they beat us on Saturday they'll go 7 points clear of us, and even the biggest optimist will admit that we would be really up against it then. But these are the games you have to win if you want to challenge for promotion. We need to go to teams above us and win, something which we have struggled to do all season.

Tranmere have been a bit hit and miss lately, but their home form remains solid, losing only once at Prenton Park since October. Their success this season had been aided by striker Chris Greenarce, who has notched 14 league goals this season. Tranmere are also strong defensively, managing to keep 14 clean sheets so far.

Ronnie Moore has pointed out this week that we are dangerous from set-pieces. I don't know who his scouts have been watching but it certainly can't be us?! We don't often score from corners or free kicks played into the box, and as for defending them..........(!) He's also said if we lose tomorrow we'll be out of the Play-Off race, but obviously Martinez disagrees

"It's good psychology from Ronnie Moore, his team have had an up-and-down season and it will be a fantastic lift for them if they can get a result against us. If he can make that extra point to get a result then it is good management. Saturday's game has probably got extra bite to it because they are in the position we want to be. But every single game is important and I don't think anyone who wins at the weekend is going to have a place guaranteed in the play-offs. There's a big group of teams trying to get into the play-offs and it will be down to how good we are in the last 10 games of the season, not just at Prenton Park."

Personally I don't think these comments are mind games, I just think the bloke is an idiot, ask any Oldham fans and they'll tell you!

Team News

The Swans are boosted with the return of Lawrence and Amankwaah from suspensions. But Austin, Pratley, Bayo and Duffy are all out. At the time of writing we haven't signed a striker so it will be Trunds and Abbott up front again.

Tranmere captain Ian Goodison is set to lead the side out to face Swansea despite missing training this week with of a long-standing ankle problem. Midfielder John Mullin has recovered from a dead leg, but defender John Thompson (knee) is still sidelined.

Verdict

The Swans really need to win this one. Let's just go out there and have a real go at them, and if we do I can see us nicking it 2-1. We'll need our big players to perform, and it's about time Trundle did well up at Tranmere. Robbo usually does the business in his homeland, more of the same tomorrow is required.
