Robinson Asks For Fans Backing

Robinson Calls For Fans Backing

Andy Robinson has called on Swansea fans to make some noise on Saturday as the Swans look to consolidate their position at the top of the League One table.

The atmosphere at the Liberty has been the subject of much discussion in recent weeks but with the Swans now in the groove - 16 points out of the last 21 available in the league - then it promises to be a little more noisy on Saturday against Hartlepool.

A Trust meeting with SSMC has also led to a statement of intent being published by the stadium and the football club that the enforcing of the rules may be a little more relaxed which in turn helps the atmosphere along.

And Robinson - who returns from injury this weekend - is the latest person to call on the fans to get behind the team rather than barrack them as we have seen from some quarters in recent weeks. Speaking via the club's official web-site, Robinson said "We've got to get the Liberty Stadium rocking

"We're not going to win a game in 45 minutes, it could take 89 minutes and we've got to believe as a squad and the fans are part of that.

"We need the fans behind us."

Robinson knows that he faces a fight of his own to get back into the side after they have progressed without him but he is also well aware that he will get his chance at some stage - be it sooner or later, "There will be some big decisions from the gaffer," he said

"The difference from when we were top two years ago is there for everyone to see.

"We could pick a second eleven now and finish first or second in the league we are in and to have that type of squad is fantastic for everyone involved in Swansea City.''
