Bristol Rovers Ready To Complete Duffy Deal

Darryl Duffy is expected to be a Bristol Rovers player by the end of the week

Duffy has been having talks with Rovers for almost a week and it is understood now that a deal has pretty much been secured and should be completed within the next couple of days.

Duffy will end a disappointing season at Swansea that saw him spend much of it on the sidelines after a big money move from Hull last summer.  He grabbed just one goal – ironically a hugely important one against Carlisle – in the league to add to one in the Johnstones Paint Trophy.

He also played a couple of important cameos at the end of the season – none more so than against his prospective employers as the Swans came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 in front of the Sky TV cameras.

Trollope told the Bristol Evening Post "We are hoping to tie things up in the next few days

"There are still a few details to conclude, but things are looking good.

Reports in Bristol have suggested that a stumbling block maybe the wage demands of Duffy in terms of what he earns now compared to what Rovers are prepared to offer but these are believed to be close to being overcome.
