Swans Suffer Double Injury Blow

Swansea City have suffered a double injury blow with the news that both Garry Monk and Joe Allen are out of the Fulham game.

Monk who did not feature in the 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers on Saturday is out with back spasms. Back problems have caused the defender problems in the past but it its thought that the 29 year old should be fit for the visit of the championship's basement club Charlton Athletic on the weekend. Giving the rest of his squad a full vote of confidence Roberto Martinez does not believe that the Swans should be overawed by the loss of the former Southampton man, he outlined on the official site , “He's (Monk) recovered well since Friday, but isn't quite ready. It's always a big blow to lose a player, especially your skipper.

"We've got great strength in the squad - as we displayed against Doncaster.''

Joe Allen is also a major doubt after picking up a thigh strain on the weekend and will undergo a late fitness test.

Tickets for the replay against Fulham go off sale at the ticket office at the close of business at 6pm.
