Roberto Martinez thinks that a fortress Liberty could see the Swans through to the end of season play offs

Swansea City have just five home league games left this season as they push for a place in the end of season top six that will ensure the Premiership dream remains alive.

Just Birmingham City have left the Liberty this season with the three points although nine draws to eight wins suggests that points have gone astray - vital when you consider that they sit just two points off the play off zone.   However, victory in the remaining five home league games and the Swans will be on the verge of extending their season past the first weekend in May.

Roberto told the Western Mail “Every game is a final for us now so the Plymouth game couldn’t be more important, the games we have left at home are vital for us.

“Every point between now and the end of the season is equally important and we have 30 to challenge for.

“The target is still between 72 and 75 points and the key to reaching it is our home form – there’s no margin for error at home now.

“If we had won this game we would have been in the top six – and it was the same at Derby,” he said.

“But now we have a good chance to try and make that happen at the Liberty.

“Results went our way over the weekend. So all we have to do is win our next two games and we are right back in it.

“Obviously when other teams are slipping up you want to capitalise on it. It wasn’t to be at Forest but hopefully it will happen over the next week.

“If we win our home games and nick a point away, that should see us in the play-offs.

“It’s two points dropped because we did the hardest thing which was get the goal, keep Forest quiet and control the game. And when you do that you should win the game.

“We didn’t and, if you want to get promoted to the Premiership, you have to be good enough to do that.

“We are good enough and this is just another learning curve for the team.

“Sometimes you need to drop points to learn lessons and that was the case with this game. We will take the point and move on."
