Former QPR And Ipswich Man In Swans Running? Tuesday, 6th Jul 2010 16:47 The Belfast Telegraph is linking Jim Magilton with the managerial vacancy at Swansea City Despite not heavily featuring in the initial odds (he opened with Victor Chandler at 20/1) Magilton is being reported in today's Belfast Telegraph as already being the subject of a tentative approach from the Swans. The article reads "JIM Magilton is poised to return to football management, by again succeeding Paulo Sousa. "The former Northern Ireland international took over from Sousa at Queens Park Rangers in June last year. "Now he is in line to be the new manager of Swansea City, after the Portuguese departed yesterday, with Leicester City his expected destination. "It is understood that a tentative approach has been made to Magilton, who is believed to be interested in talking to Swansea about the job." Magilton - like Sousa before him - was a former QPR boss who was dismissed in controversial corcumstances - for Magilton this was last December. He was in the running for the Plymouth job recently and is reported to welcome a return to football management at our level. Despite these reports the names of Gareth Southgate, Gary Speed and Paul Tisdale remain top of people'w 'wish lists' although it remains to be seen who is at the top of the only wish list that matters - that of the Swansea City board.
