Michu has promised Swans fans that there is more to come after he was instrumental in the 5-0 drubbing of QPR at the weekend

Michu said: “I have come here to help the team win games by scoring goals and I have been fortunate to score two. I am very happy, I would have been even happier if I had scored the one that hit the bar. I want to work as hard as I can and hopefully I will score a few more this season.

“I don’t like comparisons, I know Gylfi was a great player for Swansea. I am a different type of player but hopefully I can score even more goals than he did last season.

“I want to contribute to the team. I like the pressure but the most important thing is the team, I am not a selfish player who just wants to score 20 goals.

“There is no target I am only here to help the team get the points to stay in the league.

“I know I can score goals and hopefully I will get more.

“He (Laudrup) was making his debut today as well and I am delighted for him,” added Michu.

“I am pleased his first game has gone well and we will all take a lot of confidence from that. We can get even better.

“It’s only one game, there are 37 left but hopefully that is going to start us off in the right direction.

“I was told that Loftus Road was a very difficult place to come and get a result.

“I have been following the Premier League for a few years and I could not wait to come and start my journey here.

“To score my first goal for the club eight minutes into my debut was a delightful moment for me.

“I am very happy.

“Hopefully I can grow into the team and help get the points we need to stay in the league.”
