Its the last day of sales for those who went to the MK Dons games

Saints fans who attended either of the MK Dons games have until the end of today to claim their tickets for Wembley.

The take up for tickets has been phenomenal with somewhere over 40,000 sold in a little over two weeks.

Tp put that in perspective, the first wave of sales went to season ticket holders and technically with around 13,500 of those and each able to buy and extra ticket, 27,000 could have gone in that tranche.

In this second wave, although there were around 17,000 non season ticket holders at the home game and 3,000 at the away leg, although probably most of those would also have gone to the game at SMS, so this tranche would have seen the possibility of around 17,000 being sold.

As a rough guide around 24,000 were sold in the first batch and so far around 15,000 nthe second, the 2,000 who havent bought in the second so far are probably a combination of those who cadged a ticket of a season ticket holding friend or those who paid in cash and therefore arent on the database as having been to the game, add to this that a fair few more tickets will be sold today and its an amazing show of support from Saints supporters with around 90-95% take up by the end of play today.

But Saints now have to brace themselves for a rush as tickets go on general sale and i would have hoped that they would have been in contact with Wembley officials to discuss the possibility of more tickets, Finals like this are for kids as much as anyone and the real loser would be the game of football if thousands of youngsters are disapointed and 25,000 seats are left empty
