Saints At Swansea Player Assessments
Tuesday, 6th May 2014 14:53

Once again an individual look at each players performance for the team on Saturday. How did you see things ? add comments afterwards.

Artur Boruc - Didn't have a lot to do but did what he had to do well and looked solid throughout the game. 7

Nathan Clyne - Offers a bit more width down the flanks when he plays, sadly not a lot to aim for. 7

Dejan Lovren - Not a lot troubled our centre of defence all game , Lovren played his part and looked a little bit more like his old self 7

Jose Fonte - As with Lovren rarely troubled all afternoon 7

Luke Shaw - Like Clyne tries to offer a bit of width, but this is a part of his game he needs to work on a bit more, too often he gets into great positions to deliver but fails to hit a killer ball 7

Morgan Schneiderlin - Different role for Morgan and in the main did well without shining too much, should have scored 7

Victor Wanyama - Another strong performance seems to enjoy having the mobility of Cork to get him out of trouble if he gets caught 7

Jack Cork - Another industrious performance from Cork who Pochettino suddenly seems to have realised his importance 8

Steven Davis - Consistent, strong, hardworking, three attributes that mean Davis is the unsung hero of the side 8

Adam Lallana - Lively as always but as Ramirez has found in the past, you cant create if you have no one to pass to, sadly he made way for Lambert, so he never had the hance to hit someone with the skill to get on the end of it 7

Sam Gallagher - I would love to say something different, but as in last week, he worked hard but doesnt seem to be able to get in the positions needed so that he can get in a shot at goal, needs to learn his trade a bit more 6

Subs

Rickie Lambert - brought a bit of life to the game and like a striker should, made sure the ball was not going to get cleared for our goal 7

James Ward Prowse - Seems to be the player out of favour at the moment but let no one down in the last 12 minutes 7

Harrison Reed - It really would have been nice to have seen more of him 6

Mauricio Pochettino - Even with nothing to play for didnt seem willing to take any chances, it would have been nice to have seen Harrison Reed given an extended run out, but he stuck to the usual changes 6
