Barca Would Of Wanted To Avoid Us
Tuesday, 16th Dec 2014 09:24

Manuel pellegrini seems unfazed with City's tough Champions League draw against Barcelona even claiming that the Spanish giants would of wanted to avoid the English champions. City's Director of Football Txiki Begiristain also claims that the Blues have nothing to fear.

Pellegrini has been speaking to the Spanish media and told AS: "You can’t really know which way round it is. Games have to be played on the pitch. Maybe we wouldn’t have wanted Barça and Barça wouldn’t have wanted us either, but the draw has been made and now it’s time to play well."

City were beaten by Barca at the same stage last season, losing at home and away with a man sent off in each tie.

The tie is arguably the tie of the round and Begiristain had this to day:"Every tie in that draw is the same, it is fantastic, so we are looking forward to it," he said.

"We have plenty of confidence with the way we qualified beating Bayern Munich at home and Roma away, so the players will be working hard to get fit and arrive in confidence for those games.

"We have improved our squad from last season and we have some real quality up front."

"We will look for a win by playing well, but there are games where you can't play the way you want to."
