As widely expected, the Swans today confirmed the signature of Eder as their fourth summer signing and the striker didn't waste any time in declaring himself ready to go with just under six weeks until the start of the season.

It was at the weekend that reports surfaced in Portugal that the deal for Eder was nearing completion and after he came to South Wales for a medical the club finally were able to confirm the signature today for the player who joins Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Franck Tabanou and Andre Ayew as the main signings so far this summer to the Liberty.

Speaking via the official site after becoming a Jack, Eder said “I am very happy to have signed with Swansea. It’s a big club and I believe I can progress as a footballer here,”

“The Premier League will be a step up for me, but I’ve played in the European competitions and also for my country so I’ve experienced different levels of the game.

“Hopefully my team-mates will help me develop and settle in quickly at the club. I can’t wait to meet all of them when I report for pre-season training.

“Swansea are a solid club who have big ambitions - last season confirmed that - and it’s great for me to be a part of it.”

It's now an official welcome to Swansea Eder.
