Eder Hoping For Chance Against York

The good thing about cup competitions at this time of the season is that it gives us the chance to give some much needed game time to players who haven't had much of a look in in the league games to date.

And that is exactly what everyone is expecting Garry Monk to do tomorrow night as we welcome York City for their first visit to the Liberty Stadium in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The game looks certain to be the first chance for Kristoffer Nordfeldt, Franck Tabanou and Eder to start games for the Swans and for the first two of that list the first chance to appear in a competitive match for the club.

For Eder it is slightly different as he has made two substitute appearances in the Swans two away games to date but he is expected to lead the line in a Swans side that could show a full eleven changes from the team that started at Sunderland last weekend.

Eder was a £5m summer capture for the Swans fresh off the back of his first goal for his native Portugal against Italy and he will be a striker who is hungry to prove what he can do and provide some stiff competition for the in form Bafetimbi Gomis up front.

“I have been training hard to make sure I am ready for whenever the manager needs me" he told the official site

“I’ve only had a few minutes so far in the league games, but hopefully I can get a chance from the start on Tuesday to show my qualities.

“I dreamed a lot about playing in the Premier League, and now I am in it with Swansea. We have a fantastic team, and it’s great for me to a part of it.

“Hopefully we can put in a good performance on Tuesday and progress to the third round.”
