Kyle Bennett says Pompey are getting stronger - and are ready to start turning some of their draws into victories.

The Blues have drawn 10 of their first 21 games - and even turning three of those results into wins would have put Pompey top on goal difference at this stage.

Bennett admitted there was room for improvement as the squad warmed up for the visit to top-placed Northampton on Saturday.

He told The News: 'We are 21 games in and we’ve only lost twice. It’s a brand new team and I think it’s a good achievement to be in this position. But it’s not where we want to be. We are looking up and we are looking to the future.

‘There are a few games where we ended up with draws. I think we will turn a few of those draws into wins in the second half of the season. We’ve still got some key players to come back, in people like Gary Roberts and Matt Tubbs. So I think we will get stronger and stronger.’
