Swansea 0 Hull 2 - Woeful Swans Easily Beaten

The records will always show that Hull scored two late goals to take the points at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon but the truth was they deserved the three points that they take away from South Wales to maintain their 100% start to the season.

If it were not for Gylfi Sigurdsson's shot that came back off the crossbar in the first ten minutes of the game we would have had no effort of note on goal during a 90 minute display that made you wonder just where the goals will be coming from this season.

It was a display of wrong choices made with the ball and quite why some players refuse to shoot when well placed is beyond me and even the most one-eyed of Swans fans will realise that Hull could easily have scored before they did , something that the Swans never really looked like doing.

Fenando Llorente, Wayne Routledge, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Leroy Fer and Jack Cork to name but some put in poor performances and the defence always looked shaky as we had plenty of possession but never looked like we would be able to do anything of note with it - a problem that sounds familiar of years gone by.

Conceding a goal through sloppy defending from a corner sounds another familiar story and one that we seem unable to actually do anything about season after season which keeps coming back and begging the question as to what we actually do in training week in week out.

Of course two games into a season is well too early to press a panic button but there is just over a week left of the transfer window and for me we remain at least a central defender and a midfielder short of what we need to have. In particular we lack that midfielder who has the nous to open up a team who certainly came to defend their goal and did it exceptionally well although we tried to make it easier for them.

As with most games you try to get to the end of the game and look for the positives but there were very few today, indeed as I sit here and write I am not sure I can come up with any other than Borja Baston may be fit next week and Gylfi isn't usually as poor as he was today.

It is true that there are no easy games in the Premier League but on paper the first two looked easier than the next six - let's see how that works out in a couple of months time.
