Jay Rodriguez Out For Three Weeks
Saturday, 24th Sep 2016 09:30

Jay Rodriguez will be out for another three weeks after his latest injury blow that has seen him miss two games already.

Saints striking options have been a little thin in the past two games with Jay Rodriguez being mysteriously missing and no word from the club.

Radio Solent's Adam Blackmore suggested that Rodriguez had a groin problem and had surgery on it earlier this week, now Claude Puel has confirmed that a groin injury is the problem, although he has not stated whether the player has had surgery or not.

At the Press conference ahead of the West Ham game Puel said he expected the injury to keep Jay Rod out for a further three weeks and that he would be back after the International break.

That means that Rodriguez will miss another three games, the trip to West Ham tomorrow, the trip to Israel and hopefully his final game out will be thr trip to Leicester City and he will return to face his old club Burnley on Sunday 16th October at St Mary's.

In other injury news Puel also confirmed that Sofiane Boufal is continuing his rehabilitation and he too could be in line to face Burnley.
