LFW previews the forthcoming weekend's action in the Coca Cola Championship.

Welcome back to LFW Preview of the weekend's fixtures in the Coca Cola Championship and it seems like an eternity since QPR's last game! But we return this week with an evening live TV date with Ipswich at Loftus Road, in one of the games of the day. Both sides are level on 47 points and just four points off the play-offs and I have just been informed that Stuart Attwell is the referee for this one, so anything could happen here, really!! LFW's preview of the game will be online soon...

The lunchtime TV game comes from the City Ground and the East Midlands Derby between Nottingham Forest and Nigel Clough’s improving Derby. This is the third time the sides have met in a matter of weeks after they clashed in the FA Cup fourth round. Derby came out on top on that occasion but both those encounters proved to be close, as was the league encounter earlier in the season.

Reading v Bristol City has the makings of a cracking encounter, as the very much in-form Robins travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on the best home record in the division. City were beaten mid week by another form side, Doncaster at the Keepmoat, following 5 straight wins which have lifted Gary Johnson's side to 8th in the table. Reading have slipped to third in the table behind Birmingham, as like QPR, they have also had a couple of weeks without a fixture. Fourth placed Preston travel to St Mary’s to play struggling Southampton and second placed Birmingham have a tricky looking trip to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry. On Sunday, leaders Wolves, who are in the middle of a right old wobble at present, take on play-off chasing Cardiff at Molineux and former boss Dave Jones and his Cardiff side will certainly be looking to spring a surprise and are unbeaten in 12 league outings.

At the wrong end of the table, two Championship strugglers clash at Oakwell where Barnsley host bottom club Charlton Athletic, who are eight points adrift of safety. Norwich also occupy one of the relegation spots and face a tough home encounter against cup specialists Burnley, who are only outside the play-off places on goal difference.
