Great News As Injury Doubt For Newcastle Trains
Thursday, 5th Nov 2020 10:17

Saints supporters were handed a bi boost ahead of the visit of Newcastle United when the club posted pictures of one of the big doubts for Friday evening's clash pictured training.

In his Wednesday press conference prior to Friday night's game against Newcastle Ralph Hasenhuttl told the assembled hacks that Jan Bednarek might well be missing after his nasty fall at Aston Villa.

"Jan Bednarek, don’t know if he can train today, had a horrible clash," was one of the quotes that the Austrian gave on the subject.

But later on Wednesday evening pictures appeared on the club's twitter account showing that the Polish defender had actually trained that morning, Hasenhuttl would have known that.

One thing has become clear about Ralph and that is that he likes to play a few games in the the media to keep the opposition guessing and this seems to be one of them.

Bednarek was pictured seemingly suffering no ill effects of the fall on his head that mean't that he had to come off at half time on Sunday, luckily as he fell he managed to get his arms to cushion his fall to some degree, it was still a nasty fall, but not as bad as it could have been and clearly no lasting affects, if he trains again today then hopefully he will be fit and ready for the game against the Toon Army.

This is great news and gives us the option of playing three at the back bringing in Jack, takes the full back problem away with Kyle and Nathan playing a wingback role. Seems a good idea to me!!

Ralph Hasenhuttl has criticised the professionalism of Michael Obafemi whilst explaining why he has not featured too often for the Saints so far this campaign. He should of been sent out on loan to a lower league to learn some football skills. At the moment he just runs around like a headless chicken.
