Branston leaves Posh
Branston leaves Posh

Former loan defender Guy Branston has been released by his club Peterborough having failed to establish himself in the first team at London Road.

Branston had his contract at Peterborough cancelled last week having just returned to the club from a loan spell. There was seemingly no place for him with a side he has made just twenty four appearances for in eighteen months.

The defender came to Spotland earlier this season on loan following an injury crisis which saw practically every defender at the club pick up an injury at some stage.

He stayed for a couple of months and made a total of six appearances for Dale. He did okay in most of those games, but it was never going to be a move which would see Branston head to Spotland on a permanent basis.

Following his return to Peterborough, he made two outings for the Posh before heading to League One for a month with Northampton Town.

However, the loan move to Northampton is unlikely to be made a permanent one meaning Branston will be looking for his fourteenth club of his career when the transfer window opens on January 1st.
