Our French full back returned from injury in Holland last night to put in a decent performance and refused to be downbeat following AZ’s last minute equaliser.

After the match Clichy said: “Maybe before the game, people would have said 1-1 could have been a good result. There are a lot of positives from the game and we have to look (at those) for the next game.â€? "I thought defensively, as a unit, we played well. We are still first and need one more win.â€?

The players’ relentlessly positive attitude suggests that they are beginning to believe in themselves. There were times last season when the media and fans tore the squad apart with criticism yet Wenger has managed to instill the belief that they do have the quality this season.

The free spirited, positive attitude that has epitomised our performances so far this season has been refreshing and has given the squad a bit of a buffer from criticism. The attacking approach will get us wins against the lower table sides that have taken crucial points from us in the last few seasons so paranoia about reasonably insignificant defensive lapses would do more harm than good.
