Bruce Set to Complete Sheffield United Switch Saturday, 24th Jul 2010 10:24 by TWTD.co.uk Central defender Alex Bruce is reported to have travelled to Yorkshire last night to formalise his move to Sheffield United. TWTD first broke the news of Bruce’s switch to the Blades on Monday. The ex-Birmingham man, who was close to joining former loan side Leicester until manager Nigel Pearson moved on to Hull, is set to undergo a medical and hold talks regarding personal terms today. The Blues are likely to receive a fee in the region of £200,000 for the Republic of Ireland international, who was on the list of eight players made available for transfer by the club earlier in the summer. Meanwhile, skipper Jon Walters missed last night’s cricket match in Chantry Park. Walters has been suffering from a virus, although was expected to play in the match won comfortably by Ipswich and East Suffolk. However, the 26-year-old has also been linked with moves to QPR and Stoke this summer and may well be one of the players whose future is currently under discussion.
