County have completed the signing of former Wrexham defender Mansour Assoumani following a successful trial spell at Edgeley Park. The 27-year-old has played in the majority of County's pre-season friendlies and joins County from Wrexham on a free transfer.

The 6' 2" defender has an illustrious career to call upon as he has played for French side Montpellier HSC, German sides FC Saarbrücken and Sportfreunde Siegen as well as English Football League sides Leeds United and Wrexham. Last season Manny was signed on with Wrexham and he made 38 appearances as the Red Dragons finished 11th in the Blue Square Premier League.

Dean Saunders had been hoping to keep him on at the Racecourse Ground beyond the end of last season, but any hopes of a contract extension stalled as they were unable to match the contract he was on.

Manny was un-successful in his attempts to earn a permanent deal with League One side Notts County this summer although he had more joy following a trial period at Edgeley Park. The French born defender has formed a good partnership with Danny Swailes during his trial spell and it is expected that he will get the nod over youngster Jordan Rose to start the season at centre back when we take on Southend United on Saturday.

Mansour can play in two defensive positions, as he can play at left back as well as centre back.
