Town Confirm Ablett Illness Monday, 2nd Aug 2010 17:06 by TWTD.co.uk Town have confirmed that new coach Gary Ablett is is in hospital receiving treatment for an illness, believed to be Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Ablett, who recently agreed a one-year deal with the club, was taken ill at the club's Playford Road training ground last week. A Town statement reads: “Everyone at the club is devastated by the sudden onset of such a serious illness. “Our thoughts are with Gary and his family and we would ask for the family to be given the privacy they require at this difficult time.” Ablett, 44, played for both Merseyside clubs, who have released statements, Liverpool saying: "Everyone at the club would like to extend their best wishes to Gary and hopes that he makes a speedy recovery." A spokesman for Everton added: "Gary has always been a popular figure at Goodison.
