Possibly because Keith Hill is the only person in football still on speaking terms with Jim Gannon, Dale have announced a pre-season friendly with Play Off final winners Stockport County.

The announcement of this game has certainly raised one or two eyebrows amongst the support, but it's fair to say that Keith Hill knows what he's doing, and this game will be the perfect opportunity to exorcise a few ghosts.

Of course, the game will be simply a warm up to the 2008-9 season, and both teams will be looking to use this game to give as many players as possible a run out, but there's bound to be a little bit of edge - certainly from our part, which will make this game have more riding on it than say a game against Huddersfield Town would have done.

The game will kick off at Spotland on Tuesday 22nd July with a 7:30pm kick off. No details have been released regarding admission prices as of yet.
