Burley Denies Crisis
Burley Denies Crisis

Crystal Palace manager, George Burley, is playing down any talk of the club being in crisis.

Eleven games into the season and Palace sit just two points from the bottom of the table and three points clear of the relegation zone.

"There is no crisis," Burley told the Croydon Guardian.

He ought to take a really good look at recent years, Southampton, Charlton Athletic and ourselves, we all denied any crisis and promised all would be right by the end of the season.

Of course, he is being a manager, and he is trying to keep his players focused on the fruits of victory. Most especially as Palace have to face us at Carrow Road tomorrow night.

He is fighting for his job, too. Nowadays club owners want success yesterday and managers now live on the edge, never knowing when the axe will fall.

At least Burley hasn't been sacked yet. We all know how a team turns it around when they are playing for contracts with a new manager. The odds are on our side for tomorrow, and george Burley will be dreading the "full support" statement from his employers.
