So we're clear, I'm not suggesting it'd be a good idea.

Had he been kept somewhere for his own safety?

I would have him back here with penrice in a heartbeat but it won’t happen with our current DOF at the helm

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

No thanks - was great for us in his first stint but I wouldn't go back for a third time. I know he's an emotional guy and we all love him for that, but in the last few years he's been a little bit on the edge of that in my opinion. And he had his fair share of non-winning runs too (as mentioned, we change managers but actually not much changes...)

Would have Penrice back though.

Yeah I'm sure Penrice would never have left us to take the Celtic job anyway and is currently spending his time staring at the phone hoping we give him a call.

I don't see what this link has to do with Ollie's resignation.

Don't know well enough to judge whether Ollie was right to jump before the ship sank but the sense of betrayal in the comments to his open letter is striking.

It has zero to do with it.

Scooters, Tunes, Trainers and QPR.

I love Ollie. He is a legend here, always will be but even if the job became available he would have to be beyond nuts to take it and I think even he would admit he's not the answer.

We have the right manager from the point of view of where we are financially and someone who understands finance. He has to become a much more aggressive manager this season in terms of grinding out results.

We've lost so many top end of this league players and a Prem one over the last season and a half and had to replace them with Championship virgins. I can't think of another manager who would change much about where we are and keep the club financially sustainable.

Never knowingly right.

I can't say I'm surprised at this outcome. Ollie was a dead man walking once he posted that open letter. No manager is bigger than the club and discretion is a key ingredient to a strong relationship with the board.

Indeed. Ollie's candour was a charming trait 20 years ago but in recent times it has spun out of control.

Should we give him one more go at QPR? Magic Hat in as Head of Banter with Birch his assistant?

I’d rather have Billy Smart, at least he knew how to run a circus.

Not again for me, no. Too much weirdness in the interviews, it became embarrassing.

I'd have Olly back in a flash on the proviso that he had the following as his backroom staff;

a) Strikers coach = General Melchett
b) Offside coach = Macauley Miles Bonne
c) Midfield coach = Nellie the Elephant
d) Defensive coach = Grimethorpe Colliery Band
e) Goalkeeping coach = Tony Roberts
f) Interpreter = Somebody from France called Bob Alphonse
g) Yellow bib issuing officer = A middle aged gibbon
h) Half time sliced in half orange issuing officer = Princess Eugenie
j) Tea pot Officer In Charge = That Woman from The Bangles who wrongly thinks she can sing.

Mate, come on.............surely Birch as Head of Banter and Kev Birch's assistant.

I'm sure that would get Jake Cole's vote.

I've switched for another legend of that era..

I've never heard this story but I'm guessing it didn't go well for Jake Cole.

Gallen was afterall schooled by one of the masters of dressing room banter Alan McDonald.
