Leaving aside the dodgy result (seriously? James?), it got me thinking what the London musos on here would shortlist. London has far more bands and music to choose from, so put yer pride on the line here.
As a half-Londoner I'm as close to neutral as can be found on here, so I'll run this if you all want, but only if I get plenty nominations as to best bands and their best tune.
When (If!) I get sixteen we'll do a draw, and voting can commence on the first match-up.
So, no nominations for winners, I just need entrants right now.
I'll kick it off with:-
The Cure - Close To Me
I know they're not London, but Greater London will do.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
a seminal london track from the summer of love 1989/90.
cruising the epoynymous outer lanes of the M25, stopping at service stations to pin yer lug holes to a british telecom phone bank.
Orbitol "Chime". 12" version.
more than music.A work of art .A way of life..

" I guess in four or five years, the new generation's music will be .. electronics, tapes. I can kind of envision .. maybe one person .. with a lot of machines, tapes, and electronics setups, singin or speaking .. and using machines " James Douglas Morrison | 1969

All or Nothing was by the Small Faces, unless The Kinks did a cover version which I doubt as they were true to their own material. Two excellent and very similar bands though.
My London nomination would be Plaistow Patricia by Ian Dury. Arseholes, bastards,f.......Kind of sums up our shower yesterday.
There aint half been some clever bastards.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.
