This isn't like the IRA or whatever other nationalist freedom movement, this is specific to the Internet age. Everyone has access to anything they want, be it weird as fck porn or whatever radical ideology that chimes with them. I see the Mail are blaming Google for there being instructions online on how to drive a car in to people (wtf?).
The point is we as individuals can feel connected to whatever movement we want to, and act in that name and feel connected to it without having physically met anyone with a tangible connection.

Not sure what your point is but it sounds like a Daily Mail narrative. In that you seem to seak to smear all muslims, despite it being highly likely intelligence from muslim communities that has informed alot of MI5's actions to disrupt so many plots, we are told. I cant think where else that info would come from. Even if it is just a community leader alarmed by someones change in outlook/radicalisation, they've still got to have the b4lls to pick up the fone to the anti terrorist hot line and express a concern to a state mechanism that is happy to stand by and see the media slag off the whole muslim community every single day.
If the decent amongst them, and I do have my predujices, are alienated then expect more attacks. We're walking a very fine line. And if info from muslims in the know dries up that is going to be very counter productive to the security services that are so succesfull so far in keeping us safe.
I saw something like £300,000 had been crowdfunded for the murdered policeman, but very little reports of a muslim initiative that rasied £3000 in the first hour and £10,000 in the second hour, for the families of others that had died
I know some will shoot me down for the above, but the decent muslims are growing weary of being labelled terrorists 16 years after 9/11. And it harms the overall objective of keeping the whole gaff safe for everyone. |  | | |

Not really, its just a more informed post than many. The essence is that religious extremists of any type are rarely representative of the majority of those who practice it. the deluded fools who follow IS are certainly no more representative of Islam than the Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Clan is representative of Christianity.
This was a cowardly attack by feck who has a totally depraved and twisted sense of what Islam is about. Just hope that he is now suffering in whatever hell that he has arrived in.
For anyone interested I'd recommend a fascinating book by Ed Hussein called the Islamist which is a hugely insightful and very readable account of how easy it is for naive muslim kids to be pulled into extremist islamic groups in the UK. Some really interesting background too on the very different sects of the islamic faith and the different approaches they have. |  |

It does not make them unique and I've not said that but if you want to make the excuse that it goes on in other sections of society that's just watering down the problem they have. they are not a peaceful faith or Islamic religion to even their own.
