Strange choice - 5 goals, some crackers, in 27 starts. Bit overpriced and certainly the heart of a pea but talented and for me just another in a long line of mercurial wingers from whom you get brilliance and dross in equal measures.....Butler, Van Der Gun, Maylett, Goodfellow, McLeod, Gower (far better in CM), Lamah etc, etc.

I could think of a hundred more "deserving" of the accolade than Cotterill. Just for his goals against Leicester (FA Cup) and Newcastle he is in my good books.

Bean was pretty decent. Hundreds ahead of him I'd say. Beattie was decent enough on the half a dozen occasions he was fit as well.

McEachran must rank as the most disappointing signing of the last few years. From great English hope to completely out of his depth overnight.
