Graham Potter v Daniel Farke 08:43 - May 21 with 3120 views | Thrasher6 | Lets get a bit of perspective about Potter's tenure here and compare it to the manager of the team that actually won the league. There's only one winner. Farke has impressed with fairly limited resources as well...no different to us..... He stepped down after six years, planning to take a year's sabbatical, before accepting the opportunity to take charge of Borussia Dortmund II, the reserve side of German club Borussia Dortmund. He managed the side for two seasons before he was recruited by Norwich City. Norwich City On 25 May 2017, Farke was appointed as the head coach of Championship club Norwich City on a two-year contract.[3] Farke's first league game for Norwich City ended in a 1—1 draw after a late equaliser from Nélson Oliveira at Craven Cottage[4] and his first competitive game at Carrow Road saw Norwich beat Swindon Town 3—2 in the EFL Cup.[5] Farke completed his inaugural season in the Championship winning 15 games, drawing 15, and losing 16 - finishing 14th in the league table. The following season saw Norwich promoted as Championship title winners. Farke won the Manager of the Month award for November[6] and in March 2019 signed a three year contract extension, tying him to the club until June 2022.[7] The team secured promotion to the Premier League on their penultimate match of the 2018-19 season,[8] before securing the league title after the last match of the season.[9]

Graham Potter v Daniel Farke on 09:06 - May 21 with 2540 views | Thrasher6 | Lets say Dan James went....and that was it...we made a few minor additions. Would Potter have won the league with us this season? Highly unlikely....Farke did after a similar first season to Potter in the Championship.

Would Potter have been allowed to bolter the squad to that degree this season?

Graham Potter v Daniel Farke on 09:14 - May 21 with 2506 views | SgorioFruit | With regards to Potter, he ain’t all that. Any manager that continues to put Kyle Naughton and Nordfelt on the pitch week in week out really doesn’t know much about football at all.

Revisionism. Nordvelt was played more often than he should have but zmulder was injured so was there viable alternative? Same for Naughton - Olsson long term injured and Declan John wasn't exactly great so who else was he m4wnt to play? Not like he was a regular.

Graham Potter v Daniel Farke on 10:00 - May 21 with 2387 views | LeonWasGod | So what you're saying is that it can take a year to settle into the league, implement the changes you want and then see them come to fruition. I agree. I think we were lining up very nicely for next season if we could have kept the project on the rails. We'll never know now.

One huge exception, Farke had the support from the people running the show.

Mulder got injured very late in the season, late March was it not? That is no excuse for the Swedish coward to continue to be picked in the many months preceding that injury.

Thank you, Jasper. It's very amusing seeing people use Mulder's injury as an excuse as to why Potter couldn't drop Nordfeldt.

Poor keeper I agree, but coward? It takes courage for a keeper to play in front of 18 to 20,0000 people every week when it's clear he's not good enough. Joe Hart is a prime example, when on form one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he had a bad spell and it broke him. What you should do is look at the person who picks an off form keeper every week, even though Mulder proved himself a better keeper.

I call him a coward because he seems afraid of performing actions that would put him in harms way. Actions that you expect your goal keeper, who is paid thousands of pounds a week to perform.

Ever thought that he doesn't know what and when actions he should perform? e.g he doesn't know when he should or shouldn't come off his line. Doesn't make him a coward, it makes him a poor keeper. Being paid thousands is not going to make him a better keeper, blame the people who signed him and agreed to pay him thousands a week.

He'll have had 15+ years of professional coaching. He will know when to come and when not to. You can teach a child that. You can't teach someone the bravery needed to jump and compete with an attacker, knowing full well you could have your lower half taken out and land very hard. There was a goal not so long ago where they crossed it in at a very low height across the box, the sort of situation where he just need to get down and push it away. Instead he just watched it run across him as it meant diving down at someone's feet. He's afraid.

Just going back January 18 to the FA cup 4th round tie versus Notts County at Meadow Lane , Nordy was given a chance in goal and IMO proved himself a complete and utter coward when he had nothing to lose and a reputation to make. No massive crowd, away fixture with no 18K home fans to judge him yet was still a complete and utter shitehouse. It's a no from me since then. Oh, and yes, I was there and witnessed it first hand. Just saying

You credit him with the ability to be able to absorb coaching then. I don't. Have you heard the saying "You can't educate pork"?

Graham Potter v Daniel Farke on 19:51 - May 21 with 1711 views | Jacket | Fair enough points here. A lot of the resurgence was down to Dan James form in 2019. Of course a good manager can help a player's development but we don't know any of it is down to Potter. It can't go un-mentioned that the defence was woeful under Potter, again this may have been down to him being forced to play Nordfeld but Potter must also share a part of the blame for our defensive frailty. Saying all this, I would have wanted him to stay

James was putting in the same sort of eye catching performances week in, week out for the U23s. He didn't magically develop that ability after Graham Potter arrived. The only credit Potter deserves is finally promoting him to the first team.

Set piece defence was woeful under Potter. From open play we were top 4 for chances and goals conceded. Which is astonishing given our goalkeepers' inability to come for crosses (or catch the ones on top of him in Nordfeldt's case) and one of them having the 49th highest save percentage in the division.

Graham Potter v Daniel Farke on 19:59 - May 21 by theloneranger | He played in his first league match of the season in goal in the last game of the season v West Brom in May 2017. We hadn't conceded from a set piece in the first 18 games after Clement became manager in January 2017. Nordfeldt was welded to his line from a WBA corner and Jonny Evans scored. He hasn't improved since his league debut and in fact has gone backwards. He's 30 in June ... You can't teach an old dog new tricks!! [Post edited 21 May 2019 20:02]
