First Swans game Woolmer officiates this season, he is the referee Steve Cooper made allegations against of having issues with him and Swansea City. He was the fourth official which brought about a whole lot of touchline reporting when Ryan Manning was sent off against Fulham. Thereafter he was involved in reporting Swansea City for a variety of infringements on and off the pitch. Despite Fulham committing similar and in some cases far worse touchline issues which were overlooked. Let’s hope Woolmer comes to Swansea with clarity and an independent view.

Something that annoyed me was the comms on the stream saying a lot of football had been played and they were tired. They’d had nearly a full week off, they’re young, professional athletes, they shouldn’t be tired.
I saw Luton today (cough, spit, retch) and the energy they showed put us to shame. So for me it comes down to attitude and ours was if the couldn’t care less variety. [Post edited 15 Apr 2022 17:48]

We underestimated Barnsley and couldn't get mentally switched until we conceded the first goal. Probably thought we only had to turn up day.
The lack of tempo done my head in, so slow walking football. We need an injection of pace all around the first 11 next season especially in Grimes position. Grimes turns slower than a double decker bus. [Post edited 15 Apr 2022 17:43]

Grimes is now showing signs of weariness, and understandably so. Being taken out so violently in the 1st half was the final straw for him, in so many ways. He's carried the onerous weight of Martinball on his broad shoulders for too long.
He needs a rest. We can then maybe see how poor Martinball is without his heroic talisman. Like we did when Downs started ahead of him against S'oton and had an absolute mare. The match turned on it's head when Grimes came off the bench.
Lack of mental alertness from the off - that's squarely down to mis-management by a manager more intent on parading the losing Martinball brand.
Martin needs to grow up, fast. With some tougher oppo ahead, the jury is still massively out - as it was in the most recent poll. |  |

Boring 1st half but a bit of entertainment there 2nd half.
Got to give credit to Barnsley, they were well organised and there was a couple of good players there for them, notably the 2 lads on loan in Quinoa and Bassi.
We really mixed it up both half's but the movement off the ball was terrible, only after their goal did the urgency kick in, everyone around me was crying out for the movement to get on the front foot.
Not sure but I did question at the time a Barnsley player jumped on the ball, looked like a possible handball?
Ref let them get away with a lot of niggly challenges.
A lot of players off their game today, Obefami and Christie most notably, Fulton was dreadful and even Naughton looked a little out of sorts. |  |

Good spot. Cyrus has bust a gut so far with a view to securing an ongoing deal.
He isn't a natural thrusting WB, esp at this stage in his career.
He's angling for the RCB slot by all accounts, and is in pole position to nail it (should Martin still be here). | |

We were a bit rubbish but their gameplan worked perfectly up until they sacrificed a midfielder for a striker after Ntcham's goal. Then things opened up and we created things. Any decent side finishes us off before that with the chances they had.
Fisher should have done better on their goal and we could have won it at the death. Nice for Congreve to get a few runs with the ball in his 5 minutes, not too long ago Cullen was getting that treatment and the ball would spend the rest of the game sailing high over his head. | | | |

I don't know if it was a style issue today. Just too many players had a bad day. Paterson really poor, Fulton poor, Obafemi poor, Piroe out of sorts. When we did go long or direct, Obafemi or Paterson fluffed great chances.
Playing the passing, patient game, Wolf had plenty of joy getting crosses in but they didn't find a man.

By all accounts Paterson is a bit of a lone Wolf (pun apt and intended).
He ploughs his own furrows, on and off the pitch.
The fact that he's been such a massive lynchpin is testament to his outright professionalism and deep down team ethic, despite appearances to the contrary, to the passive observer. | |

Cabango done very well today, totally grown into the style terrifically, he played 2 lovely cross field ala Ash style passes in the first half.
I really enjoyed the 2nd half, a real back and forth, both teams pushing for a winner with no avail.
Obafemi should Bury his chance as should Piroe at the death but Barnsley had a few decent chances also.
Don't know what has gone on at Barnsley but they were a decent team out there today. | |

The reason i say that Jasper is our recent performances couldnt be backed up with anything getting close to the previous matches. I believe we should bench the loanees now as its an ideal oppurtunity to play squad players and youngsters gaining valuable experience. I would love to see Congreve Ogbata and Rushesha get some serious game time from now until the end of the season, playing without the pressure that mid table brings.
As for Wolfe right in front of me today he takes and turns fantastically then gets turned over with minimum contact, im sure there is a good player in there somewhere but id rather we looked at what we own rather than develop. Same goes for Pato shape or ship. | | | |

It wasn't like that though, the errors were a lot of the time unforced misplaced passes in attacking positions or in midfield and heavy touches and poor control. Not the passing around at the back needless overindulgence issue just waiting for an enthusiastic striker to nip in.
And as I say the same errors occurred when we did go long. Even though we didn't do it as much, same result. | |

That annoyed me today, Wolff was playing balls towards the near post and nobody made diagonal runs to get there.
First half was quite poor, we improved a lot but, with several poor reffing choices and poor pass choices the movements broke down.
There was a big improvement in attitude and energy second half though. We need to be starting games like that and finishing teams off, not letting them take the lead!

They 28 was useful , wouldn’t mind making a bid for him.
And the 26 looked like he would fit in our defence.
Shocking refereeing.
We looked like the season was over.
Why was Wolf left on? He, (godawful) Grimes, Paterson, Latibeaudiere made mistake after mistake. Obafemi and Piroe had hardly any service and when they did they did little with it.
Too omparient and played into Barnsley’s hand with so many long balls … should have kept things short and boring for longer to tire them our.
Great strike my Ntcham and Manning was dynamic. Congrieve should start in place of Wolf IMO. |  |
