| If Southampton Appoint Eckert Backroom Recruitment Will Be Essential on 09:44 - Nov 24 with 672 views | saintwizzler | If he is appointed, and deservedly so if this winning run continues, let him choose his staff. The less input from the cretins that run the club the better. They’ve (hopefully) struck gold with Tonda Eckert and at a knockdown price. Beat Leicester tomorrow night and give him a chance. Might as well see where he takes us until the end of the season. After another disastrous appointment in Will Still it can’t get any worse. Can it? | |

In which case we have to wait and see how the rest of the season goes. I can't understand why Lallana has been made U21 coach? Surely, he would be the obvious sidekick and we get in a U21 coach.

Perhaps Lallana thinks that he's better qualified to take over the first team before Tonda & has had his nose put out of joint & made it clear that he doesn't want to be his sidekick. Not fact, just supposing.

My guess is TE respects Lallana and values his experience of working with Klopp and others and wants him to help bring through players from the U21s. The promotion of Cam Bragg has been a breath of fresh air and nurturing and developing young players and giving them 1st team opportunities has always been the Saints way.
