RIP Chris Rea 17:32 - Dec 22 with 303 viewsBoundy

Just heard on the radio news that Chris Rea has passed away at 74 after a short illness.
Sad to hear and somewhat ironic that his passing is at this time of the year. Obviously he will be remembered mostly for Driving Home For Christmas but for me on par would be Road To Hell.

Very sad to read that, he was a great artist and songwriter, He had a bad time with Cancer he was a die head pub man, never went down the drugs path though, he was on an episode of Mortimer and Whitehouse and he told them of his troubles.
74 is no age these days for most, I enjoy listening to his songs he wrote and sung some crackers.

RIP Chris Rea.

By all accounts , a cracking bloke
Went a bit Muzak but he leaves a fine legacy
A Boro lad with rough and through
He loved cars and had a Caterham 7 which he loved to maintain
A huge Ry Cooder fan too
Yeah, big loss
Thanks Chris

Was listening to some Chris Rea last night on YouTube.

Only been familiar with his hits until now so checked out some of his bluesier stuff and it's made me want to hear more..

Also it being that time of year heard "Footsteps in the Snow" and "Winter Song" for the first time and wondered why I'd never done so earlier...

A sad loss indeed..

I did my own version of Road to Hell on care home this morning on our therapy day
Must say I enjoyed it
Simple key and great melody which sounds ok when slowed down
Sadly , it went the heads of most
Dementia is truly cruel

ATB big boy
