Not sure how they do this in a war zone. i'm being sarcastic btw. Could be that 90% of the country hasn't really seen any conflict

I can't admit to be a great lover of alcohol regardless of its source but a nice chilled glass of white ( no names no pack drill, no idea ) on a warm , late summers evening watching the sun set on the horizon and that does my soul good.

I was a big fan of Romanian reds in the 90s and 00s but they have been hard to get hold of for some time now, Sainsburys in Camden was the last vestige about 7 years ago..

THey started of at £2.99 a bottle and were remarkable for that price back when basic off licence plonk was around a £5. Loads of Romanian shops in the UK now of course but I suspect they will have a terrific mark up on them....

When the Swans were in Europe we stayed in Bucharest and spent an afternoon in the old town with a bottle or two watching the world go by and again wasn't disappointed for house red it was very nice...

If I'm in Lidl soon I will check out some Chateau Kiev....

You , in Lidl, ? Fark orf
I tried Bulgarian wine at that time but , being a snob, hated it

Bucharest , I know was know as Paris of the East but would have been orrible in Ceausescu era so you did well visiting

Anyway , we went into Waitrose in Bloomsbury to buy a lunch for picnic on St James Park
I said good morning to a staff member but by the look on his face he looked like I’d just asked him to perform a sexual act on him during opening hours

St James park full of Orientals and it gets wearing dodging them whilst they are glued to their phones

Women in Mind was shite so we went to see Mama Mia next night which was triffic

Best

I go to Lidl in disguise mun !! I'm not that daft !

I'm on first name terms with most of the staff in my local Waitrose been shopping there for over 20 years and it has a low turnover of staff but I can imagine that is not the case in London - they probably shat themselves at the prospect of human interaction or that someone would be friendly to them and not treat them as a serf. I'd put it down to shock...

Glad you survived and enjoyed your trip for the most part.... I bet you're glad to be back on the quieter climes of the peninsula walking the dog though...

Like I said alright to visit if only to thank your stars you don't live there ! :)

Yellow Tails Merlot, Malbec and Jammy roo are favoured in Maxy Towers and their Pinot Grigio that's white wine of course.

Apothic's Red and Dark Red are lovely to.

Skiing in Bulgaria can be good, been to Borovets a few times snow can be hit and miss though especially if the Gondola isn't running due to weather being bad up at the top of the mountain.

Heard Apothic is tidy - wating for it to be on offer somewhere because I'm a tightarse - Ancestors were Cardis... LOL!

I'm tempted to open a bottle of 19 Crimes right now I've heard good things about it....It's yelling at me from beyond the slow cooker which has a Vietnamese beef stew on low for tomorrow and the smell is making me hungry..

No work until Thursday AM so I think I'll have a cheeky glass and watch a few episodes of something and a lie in, in the morning...

I'm feeling decadent ! You gotta burn the midnight oil when you can at our age !

Best price I've seen for Apothic lately is at Tesco at £9.

19 Crimes is decent, their 19 Crimes Uprising is better though IMO.
