Strikers! 21:28 - May 25 with 2333 views

We had 5 strikers in our most recent 25 man squad, all over 30 years old. Would people be disappointed if we didn't sign any replacement strikers this summer?

Cisse (30) - safe
Zamora (31) - safe
Helguson (34) - great (when fit!)
Campbell (30) - potential fitness risk
Bothroyd (30) - doesn't score many....

I'd be happy for Bothroyd to move on, perhaps sign a younger striker, ideally with pace. Any thoughts...?

If Jamie can score goals from wide right/attacking midfield, keep him there!

Campbell and Bothroyd have both been disappointments so we probably need backups for Cisse and Zamora.

I would keep Campbell (and Helguson) as back up but in my opinion there is no place for Boothroyd at QPR. So long and thanks for the fish!

Given the ages of our two main forwards I think Hughes will want to bring in a young centre forward, someone who can play the Zamora role of holding onto the ball and bringing others into play. Campbell and Helguson to see out the remaining year on their contracts, the former might get a new one next summer depending on how this season goes, but the latter will be on his way next year. Bothroyd will be off in the next couple of months.
