Not sure if they consolidated on purpose. Maybe they tried to get promoted from the off and failed at that and consolidated in the process. They definitely built a decent side in the champs over a couple of seasons. You can't beat a bit of consolidation.

...agreed they certainly hoped to go up sooner...but stuck with Pearson when they didn't...
