So, England are now showing their true colours, as are the players & the management. Top class players who would rather play for their club; clubs that don't develop or blood young English players preferring to buy in established johnny foreigners, and an inept English management set up that panders to senior players & top clubs.
I agree with Hoddle & Redknapp when they say it will be years, decades before England will win anything of significance in football, be it European or World scene. The demise of our national game has been slow & deliberate, like a car crash. What it needs now is serious attention, considerable pruning & agreement with the Football League and top clubs to get our game back on track. Trouble is, top club owners didn't even know that an England team existed, till some of their players went away to play for someone else, and came back injured or too tired to focus on their club football. |  |
