My seat in the upper SA Stand provided a very good view of that and that was a stonewall penalty.

I agree that Stephan's team selection (starting with the same team) didn't help. He should have rotated the team a bit.

My view of that was that Kone went for a far post shot that would either creep in or what it eventually achieved, a rebound for a tap in. Cannot blame him for trying to end his goal drought.

Overall, it was a good 2nd half, and agree with those who credit Nardi, RND, Madsen and Burrell for their performances.

In his defence , Dunne is playing with an injury, so can be excused for this not being his usual standard.

As for the ref, both sets of fans were frustrated by his incompetence, his usual standard!
How did he only add 7 minutes when the stoppage for the injured fan was a minimum 6 minutes (I noted the time was 51 minutes when Nardi signalled for the physios and the game had been stopped for about a minute and didn't restart until just before the 57th). Add in all the substitutions and goal celebrations it should have been closer to 10 or 11.

FA Cup Draw Monday Evening

We lost up at Carlisle in the 1980s, so don't fancy that prospect. Still have bad memories of QPRs last trip to Blackpool, so no thanks.

I am probably feeling the same .

The Carabao cup selection has left a very angry and bitter taste at how this regime treat us fans and cup competitions. They don't appreciate how fans want to see a cup run let alone the possible financial rewards for progression through the rounds.

None of us are expecting a 1982 style cup run, but the team can get to the 5th or even QFs with a favourable draw and real effort by the club.

Totally agree, he has improved beyond recognition of last season's player. I was saying before the game that I liked that he had improved his physical performance but wanted to see him get a few assists too. And he did that yesterday. That pass to Chair was great and then his cross to Varane to complete the move was the perfect ending. Only disappointment was his 2nd half shot lacked the power to get a rebound to create another chance.

Timeless Lyrics. Please no Youtube. Just the words. Go with it.
at 00:29 6 Dec 2025

Having read some of the lyrics in other posts, especially one in ten and mercy mercy me and then reading the Blue ones I had to laugh.

I always liked the foĺlowing lyrics

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine is doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube, whoa

In the year 7510
If God's a-comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
Guess it's time for the Judgement day

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head then
He'll either say I'm pleased where man has been
Or tear it down and start again, woah woah

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man is gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing, woah woah

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through

But through eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may thrive

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies

Too true.
Stamford Bridge today looks nothing like the one in the 70s (see the Big Match Revisited).

I tend to agree with what you. I wa t to see more of an end product and even better corners like the near post ones he too early last season.

I am not convinced about his shooting either. I prefer to see Smyth or Saito start on the right.

As you said, I've seen them given too.
QPR players should have appealed for it, although the ref would probably have ignored them. It often happens that if they appealed and then had another appeal the refs often give the next one.

In contrast to them, QPR fans have been extremely loyal and we get as many now as we did when in the EPL .

My brother is an Arsenal fan and watched the Hull game with me and said he was very impressed with the fans loyalty given some of the crap we have put up with.

That is a good record to have. Maybe he will keep his place for the Norwich game,

I think he has played well as a left back as the stats above show .

A proper match played in good spirit by both teams. No bad tackles, no time wasting antics, no physios needed, just end to end attacking football, 5 goals and more importantly, 3 points for a somewhat rare home win.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching that.

He came on yesterday and twice got to towards the byline and cut the ball back, the first was over hit and the second picked out Kolli whose shot was saved. That's what he needs to be doing more of.

I’m concerned that Walsh is nearing fitness and will return to the starting line up. I agree that Nardi is not wanted by Stephan and is likely to move on in January. Hopefully Dieng will return.

Centre back options
at 18:54 19 Nov 2025

I would send Akindele and Smith out on loan to a decent League 1 side in January (with a recall option in case of injuries to the CBs still at QPR).

As for next season, I expect Cook will leave, but Dunne, Morrison, Mbengue and JCS will remain, the latter still out injured.

Akindele and Smith (depending on how their loans went) will join the team 1st team squad.

I was also infuriated when Vale came on for Dembele. What did Vale add to the performance?

Smyth world have tested their defence with his pace. Burrell could have played down the middle when Kone was subbed and this would have added pace for counter attacks, as Sheffield Utd were pushing players forward in search of a goal.

A missed opportunity in my view, but I suppose stopping the rot and a clean sheet maybe was Stephan's priority.

Couldn't agree more.

It isn't just down to the players' performances, but more to do with fitness and training programmes. Also, maybe down to Stephan's management.
