Is Ollie the only one who will get cash from KO
at 14:40 26 May 2015

Found this line interesting in the Gazette

[i[The Gazette believes Oyston is keen to bring the out-of-work Holloway back for a second spell. However, the 52-year-old’s financial demands, plus his wish to see drastic restructuring work at the club, could prove stumbling blocks.

If Karl owes anyone it's Ollie after the money he brought to the club and because Holloway will feel he deserves a share of that could that be the stumbling block for his return. Cheap and Cheerful Karl won't want to splash the cash when there are cheaper alternatives!

Looks like the betting sites think so and I always think when odds plummet this much there's something in it. Uninspiring is the word that I would use!

.. I know we went all the way to the Prem but for our support and the size of the town, which league should Blackpool be in.

Have to say League One is about where I think we should be!

Decent Article on Lee Clark and the current situation
at 11:37 9 May 2015

It looks like former Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has seen the light. He has quit as Blackpool boss less than a month after saying he was in it for the long haul and looking forwards to a new season and a fresh start.
Clark took over the struggling seaside club only a fortnight after losing his Birmingham job earlier in the season.

Blackpool were already rooted to the foot of the table and lack of players and a reliance on loan signings saw the former Premier League side finish with a dismal 26 points with only 4 wins all season.

Demonstrations by fans saw their last game - at home to Huddersfield abandoned - with probable Football League and FA sanctions to come next year.

Chairman Karl Oyston has been at loggerheads with supporters all season and a season ticket boycott by supporters will not help cash flow next term.

Clark may have believed he would be given some money to rebuild in League 1 and rumours from the club suggest this was not guaranteed.

Ironically the fans don't blame Clark but Oyston for lack of funds earlier in the season. On the opening day remember they travelled to Nottingham Forest with 8 new players who had signed in the previous fortnight on loan and it was downhill from there.

Anyone really think Belokon will ever arrive?
at 17:43 8 May 2015

Another story about him today ...

Latvian millionaire Valeri Belokon has reiterated his desire to buy shipwrecked Blackpool off the Oyston family.
Belokon, who first revealed an interest in bidding for the Seasiders to Sportsmail in October, says he remains in talks with mystery local investors.
Blackpool were relegated in disgrace from the Championship last month, with their season overshadowed by bitter off-field disputes.
Supporters united to force the club's last game of the campaign against Huddersfield to be abandoned by holding a sit-in on the Bloomfield Road pitch.
That came in protest at the running of their club by chairman Karl Oyston and his father, owner Owen. The former still has an FA investigation hanging over him after labelling a supporter a 'retard' in December.
And Belokon, who hasn't spoken publicly all year, is attempting to finance a buy-out.

'As I have stated before, I am still interested to buy the club, I am thinking about and working on the options and hope that agreements with potential local investors can be reached,' he told Sportsmail.
'We were viewed as an example of how to get to the Premier League with a small budget, unfortunately now the Oystons have shown the exact opposite — how to drop down out of the league with big money very quickly.'
The news comes on the same day as reports stating Blackpool's Supporters Trust are also planning to make an offer for the club.

Trust chairman Steve Rowland told the Blackpool Gazette: 'We are planning a serious bid which we expect to be treated with the respect it deserves.
'The bid involves people who have serious intentions of buying the club and will be something the Oystons will have to consider.
'We've been talking about this for months now but in the last few weeks the bid has become reality, we are hoping to be in a position to table the offer in June.'

Things you have missed this season
at 09:56 4 May 2015

Because we have been so awful, what have you missed about this season?

1, Good songs - not one of our players has a song (although the Chairman does) and the whole stadium lacked any atmosphere
2. Getting a Sunday paper and analysing all the results/tables etc
3. Watching the Fooball League review show - don't think I've done that since we beat Brighton

Any others?

Your theories on the 'End Game' for the O's?

When you look at the way they have alienated fans, cut off revenue streams and seen the side plummet down the leagues, do the O's have an end game? If so what is it?

Surely out of ALL the mistakes that Karl made it was letting his right hand man go and be replaced by a cheaper version from Crawley ... now when has Karl ever done that in any other area of the business!

Why does Karl continue in the job?
at 19:10 22 Dec 2014

Is he a megalomaniac? A glutton for punishment? Has nothing else to do? Has no one else to take over?

Just seems to me here is a man who if he really cared about the club would not have been out shooting when we needed him during the Riga crisis. He's made bad decision after bad decision. Apart from the £500k a year - which Daddy will leave him anyway - why is this man still our Chairman?
