They put us all on a train at Upton Park and ran it right through the East End to Tower Hill. Given the amount of Hammers waiting on every platform . None of us minded . They had fans in the East End back then.
It wont stop the next bout of hysterical criticism from lots of posters next game we lose. People should reflect more before deciding Nardi, Madsen, Varane, Smyth Kone etc are “sh*t” “a waste of space” and “should be shipped out immediately”. They are young men learning their trade whilst generally trying their best. They are not Boswinga or Wright Philips lazy players who don't care. Criticism is fine , but as supporters we should keep a sense of perspective.
I saw the official announcement before checking in here for any insight or itk views. My reading between the lines of what Furs says suggested that a big issue was players being sent out and turnover. If my interpretation is right there is a clash between a dedicated coach trying to develop and get the best out of our youngsters and CN’s team playing stats and shuffling players in and out.
A lot of pubs around the area used to rely on the huge boost during the season from the football. The dearth of 3pm ko over the last three seasons has hit them hard.
Just arrived in Melbourne for last three matches. Beats meaningless pre-season friendlies for me. Back in time for the first Home game. Don’t care who plays as long as Aussies beaten . They are happy to win 5-0 at cricket so no sympathy from me .
With Hayley Peacock and Kasha Pettit (being?) moved on and most of the squad being released are those in charge abandoning our women’s team or does CN have a master plan for them. I hope it isn’t the former. They might not be a source of income for the club, but they are an important sign of a community-minded and inclusive club. It isn’t a subject covered much here, but it would be a shame for QPR to be going backwards in an area that is growing rapidly in popularity .
The answer to “what other club fan base would do this” is unfortunately most. I am regularly embarrassed by the amount of ex-Hoops being booed by some of our fans. Even the ones who start off getting applause are quickly called told you’re a c by the R block if they have the temerity to try and win the game for their new team.
