The 'strike partner' usage was to help with the flow and construction of my words. Though I would argue that Donnelly played reasonably close to another striker and Grimes comes inside too.

And even the morning after, I maintain that he played okay but not a MOTM performance. Matty Pearson did much more to influence the game for example.

And I disagree with your point on about only doing as well as the opposition your playing against, that sounds like a football cliche to me. Good players are able to play consistently well, control a match and speed up and slow down the game as required.

And on a more serious note, I would expect Adebola to quickly build an understanding with his strike partner and also have more awareness of where his team mates are. He has played at a reasonable level so should be more clinical with passes, lay offs and finishes. Barnet were very poor and he will have to do more against stronger opposition in my opinion.

I have always been an Adebola fan as he got my Dale Champ Manager team into Europe in the 90s. But today he was okay, nothing more.

Was I watching the same game?

Adebola was okay, and yes, his footwork for that chance possibly deserved something (although he never quite looked to have control of the ball) but not the best player on the pitch.

He did not win enough in the air, he did not find team mates often enough, and he is not clinical in front of goal.

Not trying to be negative, but have to be realistic and cannot match these comments with what I saw.

do you get rid of that credit card advert? Especially with the sound.

I don't need credit from those legal loan sharks.

Is there where I get told we need ads like that to finance the site?

Only in football...

...could you lie to your employer, avoid mentioning a court date until the day it is happening, miss up to 3 months of work because you're in prison having assaulted someone, and then be praised: "They should have warned me but, to be fair to Jake, his desire to play for Bradford was so strong that he felt he might mess his chances up."

FAO: someone in charge
at 23:06 21 Jun 2010

Is there a mobile version of this website for 'flash 'arrys' like me who have a fancy phone? Or is it just this version on a smaller screen?

Would be useful to know for the new footy season. Oh, and top work on twitter lads.

I promise this is the last post from me tonight and I am busy all day tomorrow so will not be able to annoy you all then.

Bishop rumour
at 22:58 21 Jun 2010

Has anyone heard a rumour about Andy Bishop being sold to Grimsby?

Not a p*ss take but a genuine rumour though not sure how reliable a source it is. I believe that Bury are looking to trim wages next season and this certainly seems true so far (decisions around GK etc).

Given debates over strikers on the old board, would be funny if he moved to the Mariners in the same transfer window as Daggers has gone to the championship. Don't you think?

New site

Can you use your old log in details on here or do you have to re-register?

And can we use the change of website to change our political views and outlook on life? I fancy being a Sun reading, Carling drinking, EDL respecting (but definitely not racist right), lout. Is that okay?

Please log in to use all the site's facilities
