The loan to Maxim Demin, Bournemouth's former chairman, was allowed to be written off as debt in the 2022-23 season. The remaining liability of ÂŁ71.4 million was fully discharged after Turquoise Bidco bought the club, which then provided a ÂŁ89.8 million shareholder loan to repay A. FC. B. Enterprises, according to The New York Times. This write-off was recorded as an exceptional gain in Bournemouth's accounts. |

Agreed, just for once, can SR / Spors just stop trying to re-invent the wheel and just find a wheel that fits the promotion bandwagon. Wish list thinking has got us nowhere since SR arrived and never will. |

Agreed, when Beattie got his second of the game not long before HT it really started - sacked in the morning, you're getting sacked in the morning just echoed around an otherwise silent WHL and when Kevin Phillips made it 3-0 on the hour it got even louder. Dubious goals panel had Kev's effort off him afterwards and said OG but at the time it didn't matter it was just the sweetest feeling. From memory, the win put us 4th and Spurs either 17th or just in the bottom 3 - how times have changed for us... |

Thatâs got to be another record surely? Perhaps Spurs getting revenge for Saints getting Hoddle the sack as their manager after a 3-1 win at White Hart Lane back in the day. Considering the way Hoddle & Levy behaved when Hoddle was poached from us by Spurs there seemed to be some kind of poetic justice about Saints relieving him of the job he went behind our backs to obtain. But yes, I agree, that has to be some kind of strange record regarding Martin & JuriÄ. |

1 - Redkrapp 2 - N.Jones 3 - Branfoot With half a dozen others worth more than a dishonourable mention. Although Branfoot didnât get us relegated, despite his best efforts, he was the moron who actually dropped Matt Le Tiss for several games. The quality of MLTâs two goals v Newcastle upon his reinstatement into the team showed just what an utter prat Branfoot really was. As for Redkrapp, never wanted to be here, referred to the team in post match interviews as âtheyâ not âweâ - so, they had a slow start, not we had a slow start. Only took the job to p1ss off the Caravan Utilising Nomadic Traveller (great acronym!) East European owner of the Sk8âs after theyâd had a âtoys out of the pramâ spat about something or the other⌠|

Today should be Groundhog Day Ground Zero for SFC, the default day of the year it always resets back to for our poor club under its current ownership because the SR Directors are not just fools on April 1st but are still fools for the other 364 days of the year! |

I see what you are saying, but also what some of the critics are saying as well. I think put in football terms the BBC is a game of two halves. Think their radio output is still fine. Likewise, I listen to R2 & 6 Music but where I think the problem lies with the TV output is between budget cuts and the insistance on doing the Wokey Cokey the ruins some output. They can still produce some excellent dramas and i-player and BBC Sounds always has something worthwhile to offer but I have to agree that the news output has fallen off of a cliff post Covid. I think the BBC TV output will really struggle once everything is pushed towards streaming only for 6G to take the existing broadcasting bandwidth by around 2035. I canât see them being able to compete easily in that marketplace. [Post edited 30 Mar 15:20]

Thatâs lightweight - I know a couple of Celtic fans who saw them win the European Cup in 67 and are still celebrating! Seriously, they go to Lisbon Lions reunions every year, bi-annually they go to Las Vegas where the American chapters of the supporters club literally take over a large casino / hotel for a week and the surviving players fly out there to take part in the reunion. Apparently they nearly drink the place dry |
 | Forum Reply | Rooney spouting incoherent rubbish on the B B C again. at 20:52 29 Mar 2025
Agreed, Rooney is a total waste of space and should come complete with subtitles. If you think it is bad this season, wait until next season - the new head of sport that has opted to get rid of MOTD anchor Line-acre (as Mick Channon used to call him when on pundit duty) has decided it is time to freshen up MOTD. It has been hinted that we may have to suffer âcelebrity guestsâ as pundits which could prove to be more irritating than Rooney if that is possible. We will also have to suffer the gurning Kelly Cates, God help us. Donât mind Gabby Logan who is also joining up but canât stand Cates. Sounds like this new guy wants to apppeal more to the yoof and the millennials who simply DONâT WATCH the BBC in any significant numbers, if at all⌠Still, we will all be forced to migrate to streaming our TV by about 2035 as they are after the bandwidth for 6G. Could have been by 2030 but the current services got a reprieve. I think when it happens, that will be the point the BBC disappears up its own backside for good. |
 | Forum Reply | Saints' highest paid director was paid ÂŁ1.28m in year ending 30 June 2024 at 14:20 29 Mar 2025
I certainly wouldn't begrudge the people tasked with making key decisions on behalf of the Club from having a remuneration package commensurate with their talents, in which case, the remuneration package commensurate with the SR directors abilities should be more like ÂŁ12.80 than ÂŁ1.28m for the top earner. They should not be rewarded for abject failure. |
 | Forum Reply | With Trumpâs 25% tariff on cars, is it time that we stopped buying Teslas? at 15:34 27 Mar 2025
I think it would take 5 years minimum to get it up and running but what it would also need would be proper experience from within the industry which comes at and absolute premium and there is no substitute for it. Youâd need so much to even hit the ground walking let alone running. Who knows though, when the idiot son of a space hopper realises what the tariffs will do to the industry in the current car industry USA as they still have to import parts and raw materials perhaps if we can negotiate a tariff free special relationship that keeps being talked about then maybe it would be a real boost to our export industry as we could be far more competitive on prices than any other country, but who knows with the village idiot in charge out there⌠You could buy a 5 y/o all electric Porsche Taycan for about the same money as some of the new plastic Teslas - I know which Iâd rather have, if I had that much to spend on a car that is⌠[Post edited 27 Mar 15:52]

That brings back some happy memories - Buffalo Joeâs was a superb venue and one of those places youâd only find in Newcastle / Gateshead at that time - had some legendary sessions in B.Joeâs and yes, those cowgirls were a class apart in their matching cowboy hats and not an awful lot else! đŽ We also used to go into the Baja Beach Club near Buffaloâs on the Gateshead side of the Quayside area. From memory, there also used to be a good bar on a boat moored up near the Swing Bridge. Might have to look at a trip up there again for Sunderland or Boro away next season as I have not done a NE away trip for a few seasons now. Likewise, fond memories of some great nights out up there. |

It ended Saints 0-0 Skates I think they have struggled to find a manager as good as Marianne Spacey-Cale was - sheâs been moved up to oversee the operation of the whole female side of the Club but sheâs a hard act to follow at team management level - and thatâs without even factoring in SRâs track record on managerial appointments!! That said, when MS-C moved up quite a few of the best players left so the new manager had their work cut out to be fair⌠[Post edited 23 Mar 18:28]
